From Dr. Dunne

"I started Paws in Your Heart because I believe the greatest gift you can give your pet after a lifetime of them loving you is letting go.  Our pets give unconditional love to their human families and in return we honor our pets by giving them a dignified and peaceful passing. The first pet I had to say goodbye to was Peri, a retired guide dog, when I was 12 years old.  Over the years, I have had to say goodbye to many of my own personal pets whose memories live on in my heart.   Over the last 16 years  in veterinary medicine, I have euthanized pets in companion animal practices, at the animal shelter, and in the homes of friends.  Providing home hospice and euthanasia services, allows me to give you and your pet a loving and peaceful the end of life."

Originally from Southern California, Dr. Dunne and her family came to Buffalo in 2011.  She is married with three young daughters.  Their family dog Dempsey has his picture featured on the home page.

Her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and Masters in Preventive Veterinary Medicine are from the University of California, Davis.  After completing a fellowship in public health at the California Department of Health Services, Dr. Dunne became board certified in preventive medicine and is a Diplomat of the College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine .  She has worked in small animal private practice, for animal shelters, in local and state government and as a public health veterinarian.  She has taught euthanasia classes for animal control and humane officers as well as wildlife workers.  Over the years, it is the human animal bond of love that brings her the most satisfaction in her work.
